The Kimchi Cure
The number one cure for the flu in Korea and some other Asian cultures is Kimchi. Why? Because it contains a bacteria that is healthy for you and helps your body to easily flight off any flu. And it is really simple to make as well.
The fermenting process is what causes this healthy bacteria to grow in a large abundance in the kimchi.
Kimchi recipe
1 head Napa cabbage chopped into 2 inch pieces
3 tablespoons Sea Salt
(the rest are optional for taste)
½ cup shredded Daikon
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger
6 green onions – white part finely chopped and green part cut into 1 inch pieces.
2-3 tablespoons Korean red pepper flakes
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp distilled white vinegar
Combine the cabbage and salt. Set aside overnight. Press down cabbage squeezing all the liquid/water out. Drain off the liquid.
Add all of the remaining ingredients to the cabbage and stir well to combine.
Put into clean glass jars and pack mixture in tight and refrigerate 4 days before eating.
The Kimchi will last up to a month depending how “strong (fermented)” you want it to be.
