Today we live in a country that uses a lot of different prescription drugs, and because of this, we end up having metabolites of various prescription drugs in the water that comes right out of our tap.
Believe it or not, there is one drug company that is actually confirming this. Merck, one of the largest drug companies out there has warned people that there are a variety of prescription drug traces being found throughout the environment. Even though they are in small concentrations, they can still have consequences when humans and organisms that live in water are constantly exposed to them.
In fact, in the city of Philadelphia, the tap water in that city was tested and there were more than 50 byproducts of drugs and traces of actual drugs found in this water. Some of the drug traces found included antidepressants, cholesterol drugs, blood pressure medications, pain medications, and even birth control pills as well. This is the last thing you want to give to your kids.
You should not expect that your in your town is any different either. You see, there is no testing on tap water that finds out if there are traces of drugs in the water. However, with a great water filter, you can make sure that you are protected
Today there are a variety of different water filters out there on the market. Some of the filters available include membrane bioreactors, nanofiltration, microfiltration, and even reverse osmosis. Of course if you are looking for the most effective filter out there, the reverse osmosis filters have been proven to be the most effective, especially if you are trying to filter out any pharmaceuticals that may be in your water.
