Trans fats - Correcting a Fatal Flaw in Your Diet
Are you familiar with the dangers of hydrogenated oil (trans-fats)? These artificially created fats can seriously lower HDL (good) cholesterol, raise LDL (bad) cholesterol, and contribute to heart disease, stroke, obesity, diabetes, and a host of other health problems.
Trans-fats are one of the most dangerous ingredients in the food you eat. Which is why I am surprised that so many people eat these fats and have no idea how bad they are
You might be wondering "How harmful can one teaspoon of this stuff really be?"
Well, according to the Institute of Medicine "there is NO safe level of trans-fats" to consume.
No, that one teaspoon won't will kill you. However, if just one thing you eat each day has a teaspoon of trans-fats, multiply that by 365. Multiply that by a couple years and you could be looking at an early death, even worse, not being able to take care of yourself, being in constant pain, or being debilitated from a stroke or heart attack.
It is important to know what you are putting into your body. Trans-fat is a killer. If you see the word "hydrogenated" or "shortening" on the label, don't touch it. Especially don’t eat it.
