No matter how little of thing you do, it can have a profound impact on what happens.
Like an office worker. By not clicking on a little box, they can cause $3,500 in expenses for someone else.
So whether you are doing something you think is important or not, you never know how profound the effects will really be.
I closed on a property, called the gas company to transfer the services into my name. And they only transferred one of the meters into my name. The lady did not check the box on the computer that would transfer both of the meters.
So since the one meter had no name on it, the gas company turned the gas off. But in order to turn it back on, you have to pass a pressure test. And any little leak, no matter where it is, will cause the pressure test to fail.
So I spent 3 days with plumbers and the city finding those few little leaks, so they could turn the gas back on to the same exact buildings it was on just a few days ago.
It was a great experience in learning how to just accept what is. |
