Labor day in the United States is a big holiday. It is the last 3 day weekend of the summer for most people in America.
So I decided to go to Salt Lake City Utah with Sarah (the girl I am dating for those of you who do not know).
We got two round trip tickets from Denver for $239 total. Not one way, not each person, total. Man, Southwest Airlines can offer some cheap tickets.
I have not flown southwest airlines in a while, and now I remember why. They don’t even give you seating assignments. It is a first come first serve. Which means if you want a decent seat on the plane, show up early.
Oh man I hate that. When I fly united, I literally show up 45-60 minutes before my flight if I have luggage. 30-45 minutes before if I don’t have checked luggage.
And now I actually have to show up the 2 hours early like TSA recommends. Man, that is crazy.
Despite this, I did have fun this weekend. We went up to Park City, about 20 minutes from Salt Lake. It is a ski resort town. But since it is summer in the US, they had a bunch of summer activities we did.
Like Mini Golf. I love mini golf. We played 18 holes.
Had lunch at a great little pub.
And we watched ski jumping.
Yes, you read that correctly. In the middle of summer, 95 degrees F (36 C) and sunny, and they had a ski jump competition.
They had some special stuff that they put on ski jump hill that when they got it wet, made it like snow.
The ski jump competition was held where the 2002 winter Olympic games were held. That was pretty cool.
We also played Croquette. Sarah was a “bad ass” player, as she told me to write.
But she only 1 of the 3 games we played. So I am not sure how “bad ass” that is.
I used to play croquette all the time when I was little. So that was a lot of fun for me. But what I realized, is my feet are a lot bigger than when I was little. Because it was hard for me to put my foot on my ball, and whack the other person’s ball.
We also played board games and card games. One of my favorite things to do. So all in all, the weekend was pretty fun. |
