"When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself."
- Tecumseh, Shawnee Chief
There is so much to be thankful for.
I was bowling last night. One of the people I was bowling with was upset because she kept leaving one pin standing.
Then I noticed a kid in the lane next to us. He got like 4 or 5 pins down and was SOOOOO excited. He was elated at how awesome that was.
What is the difference? Our mind, ourselves, our beliefs, our expectations.
If you cannot find anything to be grateful for, it is you, not the outside world.
I used to have a list I cannot find right now.
But it was something like:
If you wake up in the morning, have a roof over your head, are in a bed, have food in the fridge, have spare change laying around your place, have hot water coming out of the faucet, have more than 1 set of clothes to put on (dirty or clean) have a vehicle in the driveway etc. etc.
Then you are in the top 1% of the worlds population of wealthy.
It goes through this whole list of mundane stuff that most of us just take for granted. And then when you have all the stuff that most take for granted, you learn you are in the top 1% of the wealthy people in the world.
There is truly a lot to be grateful for if you want to be grateful for something.
And if any of you have this or know where it is on my website (I think I put it on there once before) could you please send it to me. - Thanks.
