Is anything Impossible – James Oppenheim
“The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.” -- James Oppenheim
The Buddhist and ACIM students say that to make a happy dream, a happy life around you, is to accept what is.
Whishing for things to be other than they are, saying things should be other than they are, wanting things to be different than they are now, are all sure ways to guarantee your unhappiness.
This does not mean you cannot take actions to make things different at some point in the future. You can
While taking these actions, you would still be accepting of what is right now.
This is what it means to grow happiness under your feet.
Rather than saying you will be happy in the future when X happens.
Or when you have Y in your possession.
You are happy with what is now and what you have now, while taking actions in whatever way you want. |
