“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” -- Proverbs 11:25
Now, I look at this quote quite differently than most maybe do.
There are 2 totally different types of things to be generous with.
That which is multiplied when given away, and that which there is less of when given away.
When you give love, when you give happiness, when you give laughter away, you actually have more of them for yourself.
When you give money, goods, “stuff” away, you have less of them.
I have heard wise people say, when you help enough people get what they want, you will have what you want. This is how I like to interpret being generous with “stuff”.
You don’t have to give away what you have, but be generous and help others get what they want – then you will have what you want.
And when could you give away love, happiness, laughter, joy, peace?
I would say all the time. Because you will only end up with more of it back. Love doesn’t work like money. The more money you give, the less you have. But the more love you give, the more you have.
