“If you're not making mistakes, you're not taking risks, and that means you're not going anywhere. The key is to make mistakes faster than the competition, so you have more changes to learn and win.” -- John W. Holt, Jr.
Adults are so scared of making a mistake.
They will try something once, and if they don’t get it right, they will give up.
Imagine if kids did that. The first time they fell trying to walk, they gave up. The first time they tried to be potty trained and it failed, they gave up. The first time they tried to feed themselves and spilled, they gave up.
We would have a pretty pathetic society if kids gave up after the first time they failed.
Or people like Thomas Edison who tried over 2000 times to make a light bulb that worked. What if he had given up after the first time?
When you are learning something, you will rarely get it exactly right the first time. It is expected you will make mistakes when you are learning. That is why they call it learning.
