“I have observed that the world has suffered far less from ignorance than from pretensions to knowledge.” -- Daniel Boorstin
Tell me one thing you don’t know that you don’t know?
What do I mean?
In life, there is what we know, and we know that we know it.
Ex. We know our name, we know how to walk, talk, read, get emails, etc. and we know that we know how to do these.
There is what we don’t know, and we don’t know that we don’t know it.
Ex. We know that we don’t know rocket science, we know that we don’t know Russian, we know that we don’t know brain surgery, we know that we don’t know how to fly an airplane. We know what we don’t know, and if we wanted, we could learn what we know we don’t know. So now it would be come what we know we know.
The problem is, the rest of what we don’t know we don’t know that we don’t know it.
You cannot tell me anything that you don’t know you don’t know. Because if you told me something, it would be something you know that you don’t know.
So if you don’t know that you don’t know it, how can you do something about it?
That is right, you cannot do it by yourself. You first need thinking other than yours, to show you want you don’t know you don’t know, because then it will become what you know you don’t know, and if you want, now you can do something with it.
These are our blind spots in life. They are what limit us, because we don’t even know these blind spots are limiting us.
So what are you going to do to find the things that you don’t know you don’t know? |
