Quit buying regular sugar and buy Sucanat or Rapadura Sugar instead. You substitute it one-for-one in all things. The only difference is these sweeteners take longer to dissolve. So if you are baking with them, or putting them in liquids, etc (although I don't know why you would put it in water?? : ) you have to stir it longer to get it all to dissolve.
