There is only God’s Love
People often think of love as amounts of love. I love this person X amount and this other person Y amount.
The truth is there is really only one type of Love – Unconditional Love.
Everything else is not really love. It is being nice, or endearment, or this or that. But not love. God is Love and Love is Unconditional, in all circumstances in all cases. If your love has conditions for giving it, it is not unconditional.
Some of the conditions people often have are things like:
You love me
You are nice to me
You don’t flirt with anyone else
You give me the things I ask for
You are around me
These are conditions that must be met before you are actually loving to someone. Which means the love is not unconditional.
Being loving and condoning or approving of another’s actions are not the same thing. You can be loving towards someone and still not approve of or condone their actions. You do not even have to be around someone ever to be loving towards them.
So do you have unconditional love? Or do you have conditions that must be met before you are willing to be loving? God has no conditions. Your Creator loves you unconditionally despite you.
