Learn by Playing like a kid again
When a little kid is learning how to walk, or ride a bike, or read, what do they do?
They make mistakes, they fall down, they read incorrectly at first. Then what do they do? They try again. They keep trying until they learn how to do it.
Have you heard the expression, “You cannot teach an old dog new tricks”? This is not because you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. But as most people get older, they have this funny thing happen.
If they are going to try to learn something new, they will try it until the make one mistake or goof up once. Then they will quit trying. They will give up and say they cannot do it.
What would happen if a kid gave up trying to walk the first time they fell down? The second or third or 20 th time even? They would never learn how to walk.
Kids are playing as they are learning. They are having fun. They are making a game out of learning. They keep doing it until they learn.
Adults quit playing and try something once. If they don’t get it the first time they usually give up saying they cannot do it.
