People need someone to put down, attack or pick on.
If you stick your neck out to far, you are likely to get it chopped off.
Even Ghandi, who now everyone admires, at the time was shot and killed for his beliefs of freedom for India.
Not to mention all the British who didn’t like him and tried to take him down.
So if you are doing something that is daring, or bold, or going to upset someone in power, make sure you plan for this and act accordingly. Because if Ghandi would have just planned for the British leaving after his first request, he probably would have failed.
Don’t take it as defeat, or that you shouldn’t do what you want. Just make sure you plan for it, and take an temporary set backs as learning lessons of how to do it better in the future.
For without great people and great ideas, we would still be in the dark ages.
The practical application of this is at work. If you have a great idea, expect others to try and squash it or squash you. So plan for this, and it will not be an issue.
Same goes for your family, your friends, and any group of people you are associated with that you have a good idea for. |
