I learned a big lesson this past week when I was in California for A Course in Miracles Seminar.
That when we do things that are spiritual, or that are “better” or “more enlightened” because we think the actions themselves prove we are more enlightened, that they are really worse than doing the thing that we are judging against.
The reason being is when we do this we are kidding ourselves, we are lying to ourselves, about what is happening.
That if we were to do the things that are not spiritual, and just observe ourselves doing them, and not judge against ourselves for doing them, we would be better off than changing our actions to be spiritual and judging them as better than others who don’t do those actions.
The key is simply doing what you do and observing what you do. Not judging what you do, not trying to change or force your actions to be different, just observe what is happening.
See, in the observation will come the light. And with the light your actions will often start to change naturally. Without effort or struggle. |
