I have talked about forgiveness before. And I am sure I will talk about it after this.
I finished the course in Miracles lessons.
The Course in Miracles has 3 parts to it. The text, the workbook, and the teachers manual.
The text is background information that is necessary to get the full meaning from the lessons.
The lessons are meant to be done at the rate of no more than 1 daily.
If you do the lessons at less than 1 per day, that is fine. Just don’t do more than one per day.
The Manual for teacher is for those who want to help others understand and apply what the text and lessons do.
What I recommend to a lot of people is, start by doing a lesson a day. If you skip a day or two in between, no biggy. Some growth is better than no growth. So if you don’t do it for a few days, get back to it. It is so worth it in the long run.
So what does this have to do with Forgiveness?
The whole book can be summed up in one word. Forgiveness. But not in the way that most people think.
Forgiveness in the realization that nothing really happened. The people out there are not guilty and sinners. They are all part of a big dream. And so therefore are still innocent as God Created them. So you are forgiving them because they didn’t do anything. They didn’t do anything wrong.
You are not seeing what they did was real, and then forgiving that. You see beyond the illusions in that they didn’t do anything, and so it is easy to forgive them.
It is like when you wake up in the morning, can you forgive the characters in your dreams for what they did and didn’t do? Of course.
In the same way you want to be forgiving the people in this waking dream for what they did and didn’t do. Because they are part of this dream, if you will. |
