So I know I have said this before, but I forgot it so it bears repeating.
When someone asks you for recommendations, don’t get attached to your opinions or suggestions.
Being attached to your suggestions will only cause you upset because people almost never follow recommendations 100%.
Being attached to your suggestions will only make it less likely that person asking for recommendations will ask again.
Why does this so often seem to be the case with recommendations and advice?
Because people have their own beliefs, their own filters, and their own perspectives on life. So that which you see so clearly might not be seen by the other person.
And in the same context, that which they see you might see as clearly as they do.
They will listen to what you have to say, and process it through their own filters and belief systems, and then do what they think is best.
And remember, know one really knows what is best for them, not you or them. It is only our higher intelligence, or inner knowing that knows best.
That which we think about, discuss, and debate with our mind is only at most, half truths. Because we cannot possible know everything, or even half. |
